He completed his Master's Degree in Marriage Family Therapy from Hope International University and is qualified to diagnose and treat a variety of mental health issues listed here. Matt is a Prepare/Enrich certified couple's therapist and has completed Level I Gottman Training. He has over 15 years of pastoral experience in a variety of full and part time roles and is able to integrate spirituality into counseling for those who so desire.
Matt uses a variety of theroretical approaches to effectively tailor treatment to the specific needs of each client. Everyone has a different story and a unique journey and so the process of therapy is as unique as each person. Matt emphasizes the importance of a warm, empathetic environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings and helps them identify and change the thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors that are keeping them from living the life they desire. He works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families with a primary focus in depression, anxiety, addiction and family issues.
